GOONEY BIRD: VMB-614 members enjoy the company of Midway Island's native populationGooney Birds.  The Marine in the center is Corporal John F. Gendall.

Sailboat

SAILBOAT: This sailboat was constructed on Midway Island by members of VMB-614 with building materials that were "liberated" from various locations on the island.  Powered by a canvas sail, it was between 15 and 20 feet in length and undoubtedly provided squadron members with some enjoyment.
